Our Training Solutions
Surgical education often involves expensive, cadaveric lab experiences. Trainees have limited access to this type of education, because of expense and logistical hurdles. Simple 3D-printed models can simulate basic surgical tasks in a low-cost dry lab setting. At Magister Training Systems, we develop novel and simple devices by applying this principle. Through our devices, trainees can practice basic surgical techniques in an easily-accessible, low-cost application.
Sinus Surgery Trainer
SST GEN 2, our first product, offers trainees a practice simulation for basic sinus surgery instrument maneuvers. Through four unique models, trainees practice cutting ethmoid partitions and grasping targets. In addition, trainees learn basic skills for nasal endoscopy with 0-, 30-, 45-, and 70-degree nasal telescopes.

Proven Educational Outcomes
Developed over a 12-month period, this second generation training tool now includes numerous refinements based upon feedback from surgical trainees. In a recent study, otorhinolaryngology residents rated that practice on this tool improved their “overall sinus surgery skills,” and noted improved proficiency in using nasal telescopes and performing specific surgical tasks (abstract presented at the American Rhinologic Society Spring, 2022 meeting). SST Expansion Pack
The SST Expansion Pack adds models for the skills of frontal sinus dissection and the use of the soft-tissue shaver. The additional models are fully compatible with SST Deluxe Kit and SST Base Bundle.

SST Complete Crate
The SST Complete Crate includes all components of both the SST Deluxe Kit and the SST Expansion Pack. The Crate includes Models A, B, C, D, E and F, plus supporting materials, for a complete training experience.

Please not that this bundle will not include the rubber nose, BBs, or cartridges. In order to get the full Magister experience, it is recommended to purchase this separately.
The rubber nose which Magister uses can be purchased on Etsy. The back must be carved out by hand in order to use.
The cartridges are cutouts of cardstock paper measuring 20x20 mm and 20/10 mm.

Founder
Alexander is an incoming freshman at Duke University. He graduated High School at Strake Jesuit College Preparatory in Houston, Texas. He has an interest in engineering and computer-aided design. He uses Autodesk Fusion 360 and a Prusa 3D-printer to develop and manufacture these products.
